Huge Home Electronics Panic! is the 43rd episode in the first season of Sonic X. In the English dub, it is known as Mean Machines.

Summary

Sonic's carefree lifestyle is becoming a cultural phenomenon, even to the point of impacting Nelson Thorndyke's business: the quality of work at his factories is slipping, and customers are complaining. Just as Nelson is taking in this news, he gets more bad tidings: Chris has a fever! Chris' parents both drop work immediately and rush home, despite the fact that his illness is quite mild. Emerl is another visitor at the Thorndyke residence; Tails and Chuck have tried to repair him, but his memories have all been deleted.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman--Sonic's opposite as always--is hard at work in a prison factory, repairing the many broken appliances that have come in. Besides repairing them, he also installs chips that cause the appliances to attack their users. When a repaired vacuum arrives at Chris' house, it installs chips on every other appliance in the house. When Ella tries to lead the family in making a pie for Chris, the appliances begin attacking them.

As Sonic deals the first blow against a berserk hand mixer, Emerl acquires his spin attack skill, and uses it to good effect when Chris is threatened. Sonic and Emerl fight off the machines until the explosions set off the fire sprinklers, which shorts them out. Downtown, however, is a mess: not only are the appliances running wild, they shut down the water system to avoid a similar fate. Nelson heads off with Tails and Amy to fix the water supply, and Sonic, in a rare display of communication skills, alerts city officials to bring the fire department as he and Knuckles fight off the machines.

Bokkun finally breaks Eggman and his minions out of jail, and Eggman summons the appliances to overwhelm Sonic. Sonic and Knuckles fight them long enough to get very fatigued, but when Chris and his family restore the water to the city, they wipe out the rest of the machines with fire hoses. Eggman retreats, and Nelson happily observes that because all the appliances are now broken, his company will get a lot of business again.
