The Little Planet (known as the Miracle Planet in the JP instruction manual) is a mysterious moon of Sonic's world that functions as the setting for Sonic the Hedgehog CD. It only appears one month out of every year in the skies above Never Lake. This planet hosts the Time Stones, gems which (unusually) do not grant Sonic any super powers, but are coveted by Robotnik. Robotnik chains this planet to a giant rock and quickly begins work to transform the entire planet into his new base. Eventually Sonic sets the worldlet free by destroying Robotnik's base there and blowing up the rock that the Miracle Planet is chained to. After flying up for a short distance, the entire planet vanishes.

The US instruction manual adds that the planet is normally covered with tall trees and flowers, however at the start of Sonic CD the planet has been metallised by the Doctor, and is covered only in grim, grey steel.
