Landmarks

Global

Lf big1.png

Spiral loop - Appears a few times in both act 1 and act 2 of Leaf Forest. Based on the spiral loop in Sonic 2's Emerald Hill Zone. These loops are usually found above the ground, even at the top of the level. One of these is pictured in the template in the corner.

Big loop - Appears a few times in both act 1 and act 2 of Leaf Forest. Not based on any earlier Sonic game ideas. One of these in act 2 happens to be missing the very top section. (see below) Pictured on the left.

Lf ramp.png

Ramp - Sends the player away Sonic rotating around Y-axis. Appears a few times in both act 1 and act 2 of Leaf Forest. Based on the ramps that are seen in a few levels of Sonic & Knuckles. Pictured on the right.

Act 1 Exclusive

Lf water.png

Water passage - Only appears once in act 1 of Leaf Forest, divided into two caverns. One big level layout mistake in the first cavern shows how the Background layer 0 is disabled under water, because the water routine in Sonic Advance 1's Ice Mountain Zone makes water ripples on that background. Pictured on the left.

Act 2 Exclusive

Spiral loop with flat down path - Only appears in act 2 of Leaf Forest, and only twice. Not based on any earlier Sonic game ideas.

Lf hpath.png

Hidden pathway - Only appears in act 2 of Leaf Forest, and only once! Based on the hidden pathways in Sonic 2's Emerald Hill Zone.

Big loop with top missing - Appears only once at the end of act 2 of Leaf Forest! Based on loops in Sonic Adventure 2's Green Forest and White Jungle. Pictured on the right.

Badniks

  • Mon - Monkey robots that leap when approached.
  • Stinger - Buzz Bomber-esque badnik. It stings the player when approached (assault type).
  • Kiki - Monkey robot which throws bombs at the player.

Boss

Egghammertank II - Eggman the dastardly has kidnapped the fair maiden Cream the Rabbit, and Sonic is the only one who can be inconvenienced to save her. This first boss is on the run, as are the good majority of all the bosses of this game. Eggman attacks with an alternating series of close- and long-range hammer strikes. Jump the machine inbetween these strikes to inflict damage. A good strategy for avoiding the hammer is to jump off declining terrian to get a good burst of speed. After 4 hits (or 3 on the Easy setting), Eggman slightly increases the rate of his attacks, and after 8 hits (or 6), Eggy is toast. After you first defeat this boss with Sonic, Cream and her suicidal chao become available for play.
