Jurassic Boy 2, also known simply as Jurassic Boy and Jurassic Boy II is an unlicensed Famicom game released by Sachen in 1994. It was later ported to the Game Boy Color.

The player controls a pink dinosaur named Chen who stops a mad scientist, Dr. Crachi, from kidnapping his family and obtaining a "gene" that is needed in the future to make complete dinosaurs. The gameplay and level design is very obviously based on Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite its name, no "Jurassic Boy 1" was ever produced.

Story

In the year 2193, "Dinosaurs" become a popular subject again. Scientists all work to try and revive the dinosaurs.

Nevertheless, they still lack a special gene. This causes all the dinosaurs they cultivate to be incomplete.

Many countries then intend to buy dinosaurian fossils at high prices in order to get the gene. But it seems that it's not so easy.

No one can do anything to resolve this problem until Dr. Crachi invents a "Time Space" machine in the year 2197.

Gameplay

Jurassic Boy 2 is an attempt to bring Sonic the Hedgehog-style gameplay to Nintendo's 8-bit Famicom console, however the main character, Chen, cannot roll along the ground like Sonic. There are seven levels.

When brought to the Game Boy Color, the physics were altered, allowing Chen to jump higher and move faster across the screen. This version appears to have been designed exclusively with the Game Boy Color in mind - while technically compatible with black-and-white Game Boy models, Jurassic Boy 2 runs at a much slower speed on these systems, and will not physically fit in the cartridge slot without modifications.
