Huge Crisis is a Zone in the Nintendo DS game Sonic Rush. It is the fifth Zone for Sonic and sixth Zone for Blaze. As with other Zones in the game, Huge Crisis consists of two standard Acts followed by a dedicated boss Act.

Story

During Sonic's story, Sonic and Tails are blocked by fallen rocks. Knuckles, who was buried by the rockslide in Blaze's story, emerges and tells the two that he got stuck here because of Blaze, and saw Cream with her. Still aggravated by the earlier encounter, the echidna smashes the road block, opening the path forward to the next Zone.

After Sonic makes it through the Zone, he and Tails finally meet Blaze proper, and ask her what she knows about Eggman Nega and the space-time continuum tear. Upon learning that Nega is here in Sonic's world too, and how Sonic and Tails are aware of the tear, she claims that the problems are her responsibility and that she'll handle them herself. After the encounter, Blaze asks Cream what Sonic is like, to which she answers that he's "like the wind", though the princess has no idea what that means. Regardless, she heads through Huge Crisis to seek out the cyan Sol Emerald.

Overview

Reminiscent of levels such as Metal Harbor, Huge Crisis takes place on an aircraft carrier seemingly belonging to the G.U.N. organisation, as evidenced by the abundance of G.U.N. robots patrolling the Zone as opposed to robots built by Dr. Eggman. This marks the only appearance of G.U.N. in the 2D Sonic games to date.

The level shares some similarities with Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Metropolis Zone, including hazards such as crushing pistons and jets of steam, as well as the use of spin tubes to transport Sonic and Blaze to new areas of the Zone. Aside from these, the Zone also includes jet-powered sleds and mechanical cranes to help Sonic and Blaze along to their next destination.

Similar to Mirage Road, as well as the usual fast-paced sections there are also sealed rooms, in which the player must defeat the G.U.N. robots that appear to proceed. Some of these rooms are filled with pistons, moving blocks and bottomless pits, making these rooms more dangerous to move around in.
