Heavy Magician is a boss encountered in Sonic Mania. He's one of the members of Hard-Boiled Heavies. The player has a first contact with him at the beginning of Mirage Saloon Zone Act 1 where he knocks Knuckles off the plane and later on in the same act in the introduction of the mini-boss, which he turns a common Caterkiller into a giant.

His fight itself, however, only occurs in Act 2, where he uses as strategy the illusions of obscure Team Hooligan, composed of Bark the Polar Bear, Bean the Dynamite and Fang the Sniper, each with a different pattern for attacks. When transformed into Bark, the Heavy Magician uses shivers that knock down debris on top of the player; When it is turned into Bean, it uses bombs; and when transformed into Fang he shoots the features stopper bullets and jump style.
