The Wii version of Game Land is located on a planetoid shaped like Sonic's head. It is specially designed to work in co-op, so two play this level at once, whether they are both humans or a human and a CPU. Instead of the characters being Sonic and one of his friends, the characters you play as in this Zone are Eggman robots in Eggman's Sonic Simulator, as noted by the antenna on their heads and the multiple additional colors of Sonic (Red, Green, Pink, Black). Their Color Powers can be combined into more powerful variations of the original powers when used simultaneously. The levels in Game Land are unlocked by earning Red Rings scattered around the main stages. You are given the X-1s to begin with. You unlock the 2nd and 3rd acts as you get more red rings.

Six of the acts in Game Land share the same basic structural integrity as the first acts of the zones from the original Sonic the Hedgehog game: 1-1 is part of Green Hill Zone Act 1's map, 2-1 is part of Marble Zone Act 1's map, 4-1 is part of Spring Yard Zone Act 1's map, 7-1 is part of Star Light Zone Act 1's map, 5-1 is part of Labyrinth Zone Act 1's map, and 3-2 is part of Scrap Brain Zone Act 1's map. This means that these levels make no use of the wisp abilities or the 3D perspective. However, due to Game Land's more simplified structure, many objects that were in the original levels are not present or have been replaced with other objects in these stages, and they move less smoothly due to Sonic's lack of the spin roll ability.

Game Land, also known as the Sonic Simulator, is an extra level in Sonic Colours. It allows for multiplayer gameplay in both the Wii and DS versions of the game. Depending on the version, the gameplay is different.

Wii

The Wii version of Game Land is located on a planetoid shaped like Sonic's head. It is specially designed to work in co-op, so two play this level at once, whether they are both humans or a human and a CPU. Instead of the characters being Sonic and one of his friends, the characters you play as in this Zone are Eggman robots in Eggman's Sonic Simulator, as noted by the antenna on their heads and the multiple additional colors of Sonic (Red, Green, Pink, Black). Their Color Powers can be combined into more powerful variations of the original powers when used simultaneously. The levels in Game Land are unlocked by earning Red Star Rings scattered around the main stages. You are given the X-1s to begin with. You unlock the 2nd and 3rd acts as you get more Red Star Rings.

Six of the acts in Game Land share the same basic structural integrity as the first acts of the zones from the original Sonic the Hedgehog game: 1-1 is part of Green Hill Zone Act 1's map, 2-1 is part of Marble Zone Act 1's map, 4-1 is part of Spring Yard Zone Act 1's map, 5-1 is part of Labyrinth Zone Act 1's map, 7-1 is part of Star Light Zone Act 1's map, and 3-2 is part of Scrap Brain Zone Act 1's map. This means that these levels make no use of the wisp abilities or the 3D perspective. However, due to Game Land's more simplified structure, many objects that were in the original levels are not present or have been replaced with other objects in these stages, and they move less smoothly due to Sonic's lack of the spin roll ability.

This world could almost be considered this game's version of the Special Stage, as Chaos Emeralds are earned through completing each section. By collecting all the Emeralds, (and by inevitably collecting all 180 Red Star Rings to get them), you unlock a mode to play as Super Sonic in the main stages.

In this version of the game, you can also use your Mii to run around this world. The Mii's head is pasted onto a Sonic face.

Play as a Virtual Hedgehog in Eggman's Sonic Simulator in Game Land. Experience all the action in 2 player co-op where you can use Combined Color Power to have twice the fun.
