Flickies are small birds in the Sonic universe that are freed when you break open an egg capsule. They are perhaps best known for being in the game Sonic 3D: Flickies Island. The original game Flicky made in 1984 for Sega System 1 (arcade), Sega SG-1000, MSX, Sega Genesis, and mobile phones, featured a bird name Flicky rescuing her children from housecats. The game was designed by Youji Ishii, who was a member of Sonic Team until August 1999, when he left for Artoon.
