A classic Sonic level based on Green Hill Zone. With its chess pattern, it is the level most related to Sonic.
Emerald Hill Zone has bridges, waterfalls, loops like the standard Green Hill Zone. It doesn't have totem poles.
Emerald Hill Zone introduced a new screw loop, which was later patented, and is now appearing in Sonic Advance 2.
