Games: Sonic Heroes, Sonic Rush

The Egg Bishop (エッグビショップ) is a magician-like enemy found in Sonic Heroes and Sonic Rush. They are red-clad and wear magician caps. They also carry a strange scepter with them.

Appearances

Sonic Heroes

In their first appearance, Egg Bishops are stage-specific and only appear in Hang Castle, Mystic Mansion, and Robot Storm (except Team Rose). They can perform incantations that will heal their fellow robot brethren. It's always best to eliminate the Bishop first before attacking its friends. They don't have any offensive attacks.

Egg Bishops are unique in that they are actually two robots in one. If they get attacked with a wind-based attack such as the Tornado Jump, they will flip over and transform in to an Egg Magician.

The code discovered in the PC version of the game contains material operations for the transparent version of the enemy with additive alpha, but they were not used in any of its abilities especially the Egg Magician. However, the transparent model is only rendered if the opacity is lower than normal.

Sonic Rush

Egg Bishops make another appearance in Sonic Rush where they are found in Mirage Road. Unlike their appearance in Sonic Heroes, they attack by firing small energy pulses at Sonic or Blaze if they spot them. They do not have any restorative powers nor can they transform into Egg Magicians.
