Desert Dodge
Third level, SegaSonic the Hedgehog
Level theme: desert/western
Icy Isle | Trap Tower

Desert Dodge is the third level in SegaSonic the Hedgehog. In the Revision A prototype of the game, it is simply known as Desert Zone, and appears as the fifth (and last) playable level. This is the very first level in the series to incorporate the desert/western theme, an honour which would have been held by Dust Hill Zone.

Having returned to sweltering heat after surviving the cold, Sonic and co. are chased down a treacherous desert path by tornadoes, avoiding cacti, stones, mini-tornadoes, quicksand and collapsing areas. As if that isn't bad enough, a buglike robot will eventually stalk the heroes, attacking if they slow down for too long.

Later on, the player(s) must trek across a different type of sand that will slow them down, followed by rivers of sand that will push them off the edge.
