Death Egg Zone is the 11th and final zone in Sonic 2, taking place on the Death Egg. This level shares layout tiles and a palette with Chemical Plant Zone. It is also infamous for having the player fight two challenging bosses in a row without a single ring.

Appearance

This zone's graphics are nearly identical to Chemical Plant Zone except for the background, which features multi-colored stars, and the tube-looking object where Dr. Robotnik stands before Sonic chases him to the boss mech.

Layout

The level's layout is quite barren, featuring only two short hallways, two bosses, and a long hallway all the way at the end.
