Crawlton (called Zakiin in the Japanese manual), found in Mystic Cave Zone, is a long blue caterpillar-like creature that springs out of platforms at you when you get close. You can just about still see them inside the platform if you keep an eye out. The only way of destroying them is by hitting the head.
