- Back to: Chaotix (prototype 0202)/Comparisons.
While the layout of the attraction information is a match for the 1229 and 0111 prototypes. The spinning "attraction information" sign from the 0119 build has been reverted.
Unlike previous prototypes and the final game, in the 0202 build the level select cycles clockwise, and slightly faster.
This is the first prototype with the Metal Sonic boss fight in World Entrance 1. Rather than drawing explosions over the level icons, the game tries to draw the pixel explosions it uses for platforms in the main game, though the Speed Slider and Amazing Arena icons just get strange palettes before disappearring. Several sound effects are missing but the boss is fully playable.
As you damage the machine, the palette doesn't change.
The final boss in World Entrance 2 has regressed a little since the 0119 build. The cutscene flashes by in a fraction of a second and the player is spawned on top of the boss. This time, the hitboxes are marked, and while you still can't see scattered rings, beating it is much easier. Like the 0119 prototype, only the first phase has been implemented.
