Interviews

From Sonic Retro

I was told that a statement from Takashi Iizuka during a interview was removed from the wiki. The Statement was "We aren't aware how fast Sonic the Hedgehog is. In some games, he is able to go beyond the light barrier. We don't really know, the best way we can say it rivals the famous comic book hero, The Flash." I do not wish to make any changes, i just want to know why it was removed.

This task is unfinished
This is a wiki task that requires more thought or peer review. An important issue that needs to be solved, which will appear at the top of Sonic Retro:Todo until this message is removed.

I don't think we should be "correcting" the contents of interviews... however looking at the history of some of these pages, it looks like this has happened several times already. So that's a thing.

That being said, all of these interviews need to be re-formatted to match those on Sega Retro. Some might also need moving there - I thought I had already done this, but maybe not - idk.

What I do know is that some of these interviews are copied from magazines... which we now have full scans for... so we might not need dedicated interview pages anymore. But it is probably good to have a written copy so there's another puzzle that needs solving. -Black Squirrel (talk) 14:26, 27 December 2019 (EST)

It's been nearly four years since this was brought up, and it's about time we started doing this. A few preparations are in place for the switchover, such as the Interview template being brought over from Sega Retro, and I did move one interview to the new format as an example, though I think someone will need to double-check to make sure it matches the source (all I did was add the template and rename the page); speaking of sources, some of these are dead links that will need replacing with whatever archived versions are available (e.g. GameSpy).
I'll bring this up in #wiki-talk on our Discord channel too, see if this gets others willing to lighten the load. --BSonirachi (talk) 12:26, 2 September 2023 (EDT)
