The East Asian theme is a relatively new type of theme seen in more recent games and features East Asian elements. This theme first appeared in Gigan Rocks in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
These levels resemble the environments of East Asian countries, particularly Japan and China, with influence being drawn from modern and ancient aesthetics. This theme is primarily aesthetic in nature, as there are not many gimmicks and obstacles associated with the theme.
Common elements found among such levels include cherry blossom trees, writing on street signs that resemble East Asian written language, tomes, and dragon imagery.
