Butterdroid[1], called Tefu-tefu (テフテフ) in the Japanese manual[2], is a butterfly-like Badnik from Sonic & Knuckles found flying around in Mushroom Hill Zone. Usually appearing in pairs, they slowly fly back and forth, and proceed to attack the player when approached. They can be simply destroyed with a jump.
Butterdroids return in the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations. This Badnik is found again in Mushroom Hill with the same functions and method to destroy.
