Batbot, or Halogen (ハロゲン) in Japan, is a bat-type Badnik that can be found in Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s Carnival Night Zone and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I’s Casino Street Zone. They fly towards the player in circular patterns. In addition to (like all Badniks) being able to harm Sonic if they hit him while he is uncurled, their ventral lightbulb is harmful even when he is spinning. Accordingly, they cannot be destroyed from below.

BatbotMedia:Sonic3 MD US SonicJam manual.pdf[1], or Halogen (ハロゲン) in JapanMedia:Sonic3 MD JP SonicJam manual.pdf[2], is a bat-type Badnik that can be found in Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s Carnival Night Zone and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I’s Casino Street Zone. They fly towards the player in circular patterns. In addition to (like all Badniks) being able to harm Sonic if they hit him while he is uncurled, their ventral lightbulb is harmful even when he is spinning. Accordingly, they cannot be destroyed from below.

This badnik served as inspiration for Slot, a type of badnik found in Sonic Advance, again in a casino-themed level: Casino Paradise Zone.

Batbot’s appearance in Sonic 4 was initially announced via it being featured in the February 4th, 2010 trailer for that game. It also appears in Sonic Blast's Yellow Desert Zone, and the Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colours in Asteroid Coaster.
