Atomic Destroyer is the final stage in Sonic Triple Trouble. It's based on Electric Egg Zone and Scrambled Egg Zone. Like those stages, the stage is full of vacuum chutes. Buttons activate nearby traps, like the laser blast from the top and an attack of Mecha Hiyokos from the ground. Badniks are Mecha Hiyokos and Bomblurs. This Final Zone has 4 bosses. After defeating them, Eggman's yellow Chaos Emerald is given to Sonic or Tails, and either of them free Knuckles from his cell.

Atomic Destroyer is the sixth and final Zone of Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble for the Sega Game Gear. As with other Zones in this game, Atomic Destroyer consists of two standard platforming Acts followed by a third Act which contains the Zone's boss (or, in this case, multiple bosses). This Zone comes after Tidal Plant Zone.

Overview

Atomic Destroyer is Dr. Eggman's core base in Sonic Triple Trouble; and as we have come to expect from the Doctor, it's a technological nightmare of tinted chrome, killer lasers, and mad science. Maze-like networks of vaccuum tubes (reminiscant of Electric Egg Zone and Scrambled Egg Zone) whisk the player around the level, frequently depositing them right on top of the activation button for Badnik generators. And not just any Badniks; it's the annoying, tubular Mecha Hiyoko bird-bots that plague the player throughout the 8-bit games, all the way since Sky High Zone. Some activation buttons will also set off laser turrets.

The Atomic Destroyer Zone itself functions as some sort of immense superweapon, according to the US manual.Media:SonicTripleTrouble GG US manual.pdf[2] We never find out precisely whose atoms it's supposed to destroy - but perhaps this is for the best, as Sonic and Tails race towards Act 3, and the many, many consecutive bosses...

Quotes

You have to move fast to get safely through the dark corridors of Dr. Robotnik's lair. Grab all the Rings and bonuses you can—you'll need them when you meet with the Bad Egg himself, and see all the nasty surprises he's prepared especially for you...
