Lobotomy

<forumuser name="Lobotomy" /> Lobotomy (formerly known as Ashura the Hedgehog and soopahsonic) is a rather active member of the Sonic Retro and SSRG forums. He is known for delivering short, witty replies to many topics, occasionally making serious posts. He was initially a strong supporter of The Glowing Bridge up to its eventual closure, and was a half-op in the SonicIRC channel, #general.

He can be commonly found in the Sonic Retro IRC channel, and, on very rare occasions, community Skype conferences.

History

Lobotomy's first foray into the Sonic scene was through SWS2B, which he joined under the alias soopahsonic. He made

a topic proposing a method to measure the length of a Zone by measuring Sonic's height within the game, turning him on his side, and measuring the pixel width to the end of a level map. This became infamous among many sceners at the time, and he was subjected to countless amounts of public ridicule. He would make a few more posts on the board before being banned by Simon Wai, the administrator at the time. He would attempt to ban dodge a few months later, but his identity was quickly discovered and he was banned once more.

In about April of 2007, following S2B Topic 9093, Lobotomy would join the Glowing Bridge forums under his new alias, Ashura the Hedgehog. At this point, he was much more intelligent and able to interact in the board normally, but he was also very shy and self-conscious; he would eventually reveal in a post that he was previously known as "the infamous soopahsonic." Despite his paranoia, this news was met rather well by most members of the board at the time, marking his first step towards acceptance by the scene as a whole.

When The Glowing Bridge shut down in late 2007, Lobotomy was left without a Sonic scene message board to attend, and slowly vanished from the community. However, Tweaker would attempt to track down Lobotomy several months later to contact him about being unbanned at Sonic Retro. He succeeded, and on March 17th, 2008, Lobotomy became a Trial Member at the Sonic Retro forums. He would be approved rather quickly, sealing Lobotomy's place as an accepted member of the Sonic scene.

He is currently working on a hack that he is not disclosing any info about. (If you searched through some of his posts, you'd find less-than-subtle hints.)

In November 2008, Lobotomy joined the SSRG forums. It is not clear at this point if he will be an active member of the board or not.
