Contents
Story
It's Amy Rose's birthday, and she is hosting a murder mystery party on the Mirage Express, inviting Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Vector, Espio, Rouge, Blaze and Shadow. Sonic becomes the game's murder victim, and everyone has to get to the bottom of things. However, there may be something more sinister afoot, and it is up to a new employee on the Mirage Express to work with Tails to figure out what exactly happened to Sonic.
Gameplay
The player fulfills the role of a new employee on the Mirage Express who they can decide the name of at the beginning of the game, and the objective is to examine various objects in the various cars aboard the Mirage Express to find clues to Sonic's murder. Objects can be clicked on to investigate them, and if a piece of evidence is found, it is added to the player's inventory. After collecting enough pieces of evidence, the player can then interrogate a character about the murder. After a successful interrogation, the player can then move on to the next car.
At specific points in the game, particularly during an interrogation, the player will be presented with a "THINK!" mini-game in which they must control Sonic in isometric auto-running sections and collect enough Rings to meet a quota while avoiding obstacles, similar to the Special Stages from traditional Sonic games. Sonic can be moved left and right using the 🡨 and 🡪 keys ( A and D will also work), and can jump using Space . If the player falls into a pit or fails to meet the quota, they must try the mini-game again - they can take as many attempts as they like to clear the mini-game. The game also offers "Assist Mode" accessibility options for players who may struggle with the "THINK" mini-games, which can be accessed in the options menu. These include settings to enable invincibility, remove pitfalls, or reduce the gameplay speed and Ring quotas.
