Race Against Chaos contains the following activities:
- Eggman Triumphant: A follow-the-line game where the reader must follow the lines and choose which Chaos Emerald is connected to the Death Egg Robot.
- Assemble Your Heroes: A connect-the-dots activity which the reader must join the dots together to complete pictures of Sonic and Tails.
- Green Hill Zone Grab: This activity presents a two-page spread, and the reader has to count how many Rings they can find.
- Calling All Allies: This activity displays a message from Tails, and the player must decipher it using the code-breaking symbols printed on the page as a guide.
- Battle Past Badniks: This activity is played by two readers, both assuming the role of Sonic and Tails respectively, who must make it across a sheet with dots, Badniks and Rings scattered around it to reach the Chaos Emerald at the bottom of the sheet. The players take turns drawing lines between dots. For each square the player makes, they earn one point, and trapping a Badnik will earn a player three points, boxing a Ring earns five, and whoever captures the Chaos Emerald first earns 10 points and ends the game.
