Why, do you have some kind of intellectual copyright over Recolour The Fangame? Frozen Nitrogen (Talk) 17:43, 21 August 2010 (CDT)

Recolour The Fangame

Do we seriously need a separate page for every Character in Sonic # hack? If someone can gather proof that every one is notable, could we at least consolidate them all into one page? - Andlabs 19:53, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Maybe create a new category for them but I don't think they should be merged into a single page. Each character hack usually has enough features to warrant a page as new moves or attributes are added to each one. Then there is download links and external links to the forum. Better off having individual pages then one big page. It's not like we are running out of pages anyway so we can afford to allow each hack its own page.--MathUser 20:12, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
Some are fairly notable too, like Stealth's Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog, which was (one of?) the first of its kind. Hacks like these deserve their own page. But if somebody comes along with a hack today that only puts Kunckles in Sonic 1 without some outstanding new addition, then it doesn't really deserve its own page to begin with. Here's the thing — every hack that has had a custom character in the past eight months now has a page, and even some like the fifth super sonic in sonic 1 hack that puto made (yes there were quite many before that) so wtf do we do with all of these — chuck, merge, leave? Should there still be a hack policy? (Not trying to discredit E-122 Psi for actually putting the moves in, but still [and I should release my Chaotix IDBs sometime]) - Andlabs 03:50, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
I think altering gameplay and sprite editing is enough to make it notable. I prefer that there aren't level changes as I like playing through the original game with added features. Usually hacks that change the levels only do the first few zones and makes the whole hack feel incomplete. When it's just a character hack the hack feels complete as it accomplishes what it set out to do. I don't know how we are gonna determine what characters are not worthy of a page, maybe fancharacters but we haven't archived any standalone fan character in "game" hacks. Just let the pages exist, Sonic Retro is a place to archive notable hacks so lets not start merging hack pages.--MathUser 06:06, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
For once, I actually AGREE with MathUser. Not only are they quality sprite hacks, but they level the playing field by adding new abilities, and in Charmy's case, new character collision as well. (well, it will on the next revision).Aquaslash 17:11, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
