The 1996-08-19 build of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island, also known as "prototype 819", is a prototype build of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island for the Sega Mega Drive. Two copies of this prototype have been found and preserved from different sources.
Near the end of this prototype is the beginning of another game. This text was found in its header "NOSEGAY is a word (C)T-SN 1993.MARPSY-Q". All headers are required to contain the word "Sega". Thus it would be No Sega Y.

History
The first copy of this build was obtained from an EPROM cartridge purchased for $700 by the Sonic community and dumped by drx in October 2006, and was the first prototype of Sonic 3D to be preserved. It claims to be a 70% complete version of the game, though it's estimated to be closer to 95%. This copy contains an XORed watermark in the memo section of the ROM's header that reads "Mike Wallis, Marketing".
The second copy of the prototype was later released by during the February 23rd, 2008 proto release. This copy has the header watermark removed.

Startup
- The Sega logo has the old "Sega" sound. This is the first beta where the words zoom off the screen, like in the final.
- The title screen refers to the E3 demo cartridge, even though it isn't the actual E3 demo.
- Ending sequences/Chaos Emerald collection screens are missing and have a filler screen instead.
- Pausing the game then pressing A proceeds to the next level, in the same way the level select does in the final.
- Collecting 100 rings gives you an 1-UP only if you get exactly 100. Using a 10-rings box to go beyond 100 won't work.
- Various changes in level design and layout.
Music
- Various pieces of music are used in in both acts: Rusty Ruin uses Act 1 music, Volcano Valley uses Gene Gadget Act 2 music, Gene Gadget uses Act 1 music, Panic Puppet uses Act 2 music and bosses use the final level music.
- Two pieces of lost music have been found, one of them was used as a boss track in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I.
Other
- Other loading screen / title card fonts
