Art Description
SegaSonic System32 Sprite EarlyTitleScreenCharacters.png
Early title screen graphics for Sonic, Ray and Mighty. The early Sonic sprite was used in the prototype, but Ray and Mighty were never seen outside of graphic data[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite EarlyCharacterSelect.png
Early character select graphics for Sonic and Ray. Sonic's face was later redrawn, and Ray's patagia were emphasised. Mighty's early graphics are identical to the final, so are not shown here[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite EarlyIntroCharacters.png
Early versions of the trio's sprites when running away in the intro sequence. Mighty is the only character to have an early "panicked" sprite, which shows a different expression[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite SwoleSonic.gif
SegaSonic System32 Sprite SwoleRay.gif
SegaSonic System32 Sprite SwoleMighty.gif
Animations of the trio flexing, becoming muscular in the process[1]. Code to display these animations in-game still exists, but doesn't appear to be used anywhere[2].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite EggmanHologram.gif
Dr. Eggman appearing via hologram[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite EggmanRemote.gif
Eggman using a remote control[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite InsertMoreCoins.png
Messages prompting the player(s) to insert more coins. These never appear no matter what the DIP switch settings are[1].
SegaSonic System32 Sprite DebugMenu.png
Entries for a debug menu, possibly for a level or graphic editor[1].

Western localisation

Sprites of the Robotnik design used in the North American Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series and Archie comic series can be found in the game. It's possible that these sprites were meant to be used when shipping SegaSonic the Hedgehog overseas[1].
