The Ocean TornadoMedia:SonicRushAdventure DS US manual.pdf (オーシャントルネード) is the second watercraft which can be ridden in Sonic Rush Adventure. This large sailboat enables Sonic, Tails, Blaze and Marine to make further explorations away from Southern Island to places that the Wave Cyclone by itself cannot reach.

Gameplay

Sonic Rush Adventure incorporates a unique "Overworld minigame" for accessing the traditional platforming stages; this taking the form of an ocean voyage between islands, taken on whichever watercraft can best navigate the ocean conditions. The Ocean Tornado has a much longer range than the Wave Cyclone, but is unable to cross shallow water. The Ocean Tornado will sail on its own, with the player using side-mounted weapons to repel Captain Whisker's pirate forces on the Touch Screen:

• Gun turret: Fires a rapid stream of rounds that will take out weaker ships as well as destroying projectiles and bombs, but cannot harm larger and more powerful enemies. It has six rounds per magazine, but has an incredibly short reload time.
• Cannon: Fires more powerful shots than the gun turret, but cannot be fired rapidly. It can fire up to three cannonballs per load, and takes a fraction of a second to reload.
• Flamethrower: Fires a stream of flames that will deal damage to enemies as well as collect Rings, with the flames lingering for about a second. Using this weapon in conjunction with the cannon will increase the damage output against larger battleships. It has a long reload time, and upgrades to the Ocean Tornado will increase the amount of fuel per load as well as how long the flames will burn.
