Episode summary
At the Thorndyke mansion, Mr. Tanaka informs Chris that his parents will be coming home later that day, after several months of working away. Chris goes to tell Sonic and the others, who agree to stay hidden, before leaving for school.
At school, Chris' class and a sleeping Mr. Stewart are interrupted by a robot calling itself "Classroom Robot E-51". It claims that from now, it will be the teacher and throws a fuming Mr. Stewart out of the room. He goes to the headteacher, and the two of them return to the classroom to find the robot is popular with the students and doing an excellent job. The headteacher dismisses Stewart's protests and leaves. Stewart tries radioing his HQ (Mr. Stewart is a spy for the government), but is accused of being an idiot. Then he unsuccessfully attempts to have the police arrest the robot.
Dr. Eggman is observing E-51 from his base, and is annoyed that the robot is playing baseball with the children rather than teaching them to respect him.
Back at the mansion, Nelson and Lindsey Thorndyke arrive in a helicopter. Tails and Amy watch from Chris' room above the garage.
Still playing baseball, E-51 is accosted by Bokkun, the messenger robot, who tells him that Eggman is angry because he isn't completing his mission. However, Bokkun becomes upset when he sees how popular E-51 is, noting that he wants people to like him too. After the game, Dr. Eggman arrives and threatens to dismantle E-51 if he lets the children leave. As Chris tries to walk away, the robot's tone becomes sinister and prevents Chris leaving.
Meanwhile at the mansion, Chris' parents become concerned that he hasn't come home yet. They debate whether to pick him up and risk becoming overprotective parents. They decide to wait. Sonic hears their conversation and heads into the city to investigate.
E-51 is forcing the children to draw portraits of Dr. Eggman when Sonic arrives. Eggman orders the robot to kill Sonic, so E-51 fires a barrage of missiles from his head, which Sonic easily dodges. Sonic destroys the robot and confronts Eggman, who promptly leaves in his Eggpod. Chris hurries home to greet his parents.
