Water Barrel from Sonic Unleashed PS2/Wii

Water Barrels are gameplay objects found in the Night Stages of Sonic Unleashed.

Overview

They are medium-sized barrels that the player can Grab as Sonic the Werehog to use as projectiles against enemies, just like Crates. Unlike those, however, they contain water, which makes them mostly effective against fire-based enemies, such as the Fire Masters and the Dark Gaia Phoenix when thrown at them, but are even more effective against electric-based enemies like the Lightning Masters (emptying their health bars instantly by causing them a "short circuit").

In the PS2/Wii versions of Sonic Unleashed, Water Barrels will regenerate at the location they were picked up from. They also serve to extinguish Fire Barriers blocking the player's path akin to Dark Energy Force Fields, and can be found in Chun-nan, Arid Sands, Jungle Joyride and Eggmanland.
