Hey, how come I can't upload any more files? I'm trying to upload the rest of the Sonic 3d beta's, and it is less than 3MB, and the max is supposed to be 5MB. Did you put a new lower cap on files?--MathUser 19:41, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

I haven't changed anything, and I don't imagine the other admins would either. Is the file more than 2MB? I believe the max was 2MB originally, so it's possible it was accidentally reverted at some point. - Hivebrain 20:00, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, it was over 2MB. So, can you contact a Admin and have them revert it. It's kinda half assed to only have half of the Sonic 3d protos hosted. It should be all or none. The sonic 2 protos are all hosted here.--MathUser 20:12, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Drift 2 pix

Filtered and wrong size, you say? Is this the kind of situation where I can do something relatively easily to redress it? (You will, I hope, forgive my Wiki Image n00bishness) Frozen Nitrogen 18:11, 28 May 2009 (CDT)

It depends which emulator you're using to take the screenshots. Most emulators have an option to play the game unfiltered and at the original resolution (160x144). - Hivebrain 18:15, 28 May 2009 (CDT)
You see, this is why I should investigate best practice before taking a bunch of screencaps. C'est le vie. I shall bear it in mind for the future. Frozen Nitrogen 18:22, 28 May 2009 (CDT)

Delete request

Requesting a delete of http://info.sonicretro.org/images/archive/a/a4/20080611070253%21Sonic_Crackers_%28Text_Format_by_Shobiz%29.rar, since it's useless now. --Shobiz 19:21, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks --Shobiz 19:38, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Hivebrain, the correct name for the magazine was Game Desiner's works, look at the name on the bottom of the page.--MathUser 22:59, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

SONIC DRIVE -> Sonic Drive

Just so you know, I created the page with the name in all caps because that is how it is listed in other databases.

Image replacement

Hey Hive, was just curious about why you tagged Image:HyperSonic.gif for replacement, so that it can be replaced appropriately. --Shobiz 19:41, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Because it's a really bad animated gif. A nice screenshot would be better. - Hivebrain 19:48, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
The problem is that Hyper Sonic glows in 8 different colors, so a simple screenshot would be just like Super Sonic, I thought an animated gif was the best idea, sorry if it wasn't Nineko 20:03, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Image optimization

Hey, I was wondering what tool you used to optimize the PNGs I've been uploading, that way I can do it myself before I upload them. MK 16:54, 26 January 2009 (CST)

I use ScarredSun's pngpress batch file, followed by PNGOutWin (cracked, as it's not freeware). - Hivebrain 16:58, 26 January 2009 (CST)

Template

Hey, look at the bobtemplate in IE. For pages that have "Also released on" sections filled out it warps that template and makes it stretch the full width of the page at times. That section should probably be removed all-together cause there is a "also released on" like section on each games page, and it catches some games that the template missed.--MathUser 16:16, 22 February 2009 (CST)

I'm in favour of removing it. - Hivebrain 16:19, 22 February 2009 (CST)

SVG Rating Logos

I was just wondering if you're actually grabbing the SVG versions of rating images from somewhere or if you're recreating them yourself. I'm assuming that you're recreating them, which leads me to ask: if I wanted the rest of the SELL set, would it be worth it to go ahead and extract those from boxart as well as I can and then have you recreate it, or is that step even necessary? - Scarred Sun 13:44, 2 June 2009 (CDT)

Most of them I extracted from PDF files. The SELL "tous publics" image was an EPS on brandsoftheworld.com, and may have been a recreation itself. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any others, but recreating the rest shouldn't be too hard if I use the tous publics svg as a template. - Hivebrain 14:58, 2 June 2009 (CDT)

Sorry

Sorry Hive, didn't see your edits. Revert/delete as needed Nineko 15:52, 8 June 2009 (CDT)

Looks like yours are smaller anyway. - Hivebrain 15:54, 8 June 2009 (CDT)

SA scans

You mean the SA scans? I will then. http://info.sonicretro.org/Image:Sa_dc_eu_manual_02_03.png Please delete this one then.

Oh yeah, I uploaded Jam and 3D eu manual in the morning, in png format, before you asked to make SA in jpeg. What do i do with those, convert and reupload and someone deletes the png or it's okay? they're in black and white as well, there will be no loss if both are done in jpeg and i still have the files on the hard drive.

TV screenshots

I see that you've been replacing my screenshots with JPEG versions of them. I'm using VLC Media Player to make screenshots and they are saved in PNG format. Would you rather have them converted to JPEG afterwards? SOTI 00:41, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

JPEGs are more suitable for video screenshots. Since video is already stored in a lossy format, there is little to be gained from converting them to a lossless format at the expense of a few hundred KBs. I converted your screenshot to a progressive JPEG with 2% compression. - Hivebrain 01:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, I'll do that next time. SOTI 01:12, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

C Button

I uploaded a C button image but I found that it lacked the anti-aliasing that the other graphics had. Want to fix that?--MUser 01:33, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

GRB's Content descriptions

I saw you did a great job creating these tags. I'd like to know if you could vectorize GRB's description tags. Wikimedia Commons have some not that may be useful. Mizunoryu 04:08, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

I ripped the tags from a PDF, which unfortunately didn't contain any vectors for the descriptive tags. I might be able to find another PDF somewhere that does. - Hivebrain 04:27, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Ok, thanks.I also woulkd like to know if you can clear some doubts. i'm new here and would like to upload some images. Though I already know wiki codifications there are some things different here. I'd like to upload a better image over this one. How do I manage that? Mizunoryu 18:32, 14 September 2009 (UTC) And if you want, I found some nice pdf documents from CERO. This one has the rating "C", this one has the rating "B", this one has the old ratings and descriptions and this last one has the new ratings (But the "D" rating has a problem under the big letter D). Mizunoryu 03:45, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Excellent, thanks! Funnily enough I already have EPS files for the CERO images, but was unable to use them due to a character encoding issue. Ripping them from the PDFs should be no problem. - Hivebrain 04:10, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Glad you liked them. And you didn't tell me if there is a way to upload over another image. =P

BTW, the DJCTQ rating numbers have quite different font of the original ones. DJCTQ have their ratings available here. And sorry for my bad english. I'm from Brazil, so, english is not my native language. Mizunoryu 15:04, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
There's a blue link about halfway down the page that says "Upload a new version of this file". You can use that to replace an existing file. I've downloaded the correct font for the DJCTQ images from that site, so I'll be able to fix them later. - Hivebrain 19:15, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I couldn't find this link. Maybe because I'm a newbie. I tried to upload another thing and I got the message

Well, I'll have to wait so.Mizunoryu 02:33, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

I've upgraded you to Trial Member. You should be able to upload files and post on the forum now. - Hivebrain 03:21, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! How much editions do I need to be able to create an article? Mizunoryu 12:34, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Just saw you created SVG versions for CERO, but there is a problem with them. They have white boards too. Mizunoryu 15:11, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that too, but they didn't have white borders in the PDF I took them from. I'm not too concerned about it myself, but I might add the borders at a later date. - Hivebrain 01:50, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

I se, this is the PSP pdf. But it's background is white too, is impossible to see them. In the other files we can see the borders clearly. Mizunoryu 14:34, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

MD Screenshots

What emulator do you use? Does it emulate color pallete correctly? NeKit 11:46, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

I use Kega Fusion. See Sonic Retro:Screenshots for info on screenshots (the thing about Gens/GS might be out of date though). - Hivebrain 20:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. But why do you make it brighter than it is? NeKit 10:38, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Need a quick word

Could you hop on either AIM or the IRC for a minute? You don;t need to join #retro, just the staff channel - I need a quick word. Thanks Overlord 23:33, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry?

Was in the middle of editing when you deleted, but okay. Tips would be appreciated since I'm new to the wiki. I'm still trying to figure out this software. -Ink 22:15, 24 February 2010 (UTC) Edit- Sorry, that came off bitchier than intended. Tips would actually be appreciated, though. -Ink 22:27, 24 February 2010 (UTC) Edit (again) - Okay, taking it seriously this time, I've recreated the page. If it's still not okay, could you please tell me how to fix it before you delete it? -Ink 23:26, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Ah, okay. I may add that blurb into my page somewhere anyway. It makes me laugh. But yeah, I *think* I belong there. I'm not too sure on the categories, though. "Sceners," I guess? -Ink 23:43, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you

If it was you who made those PNGs transparent, much thanks. I was just moving over all I posted in the Chaotix discussion thread over, didn't have time to clean up.

Sonic 4 Boss Battle Music

Hey, If the one you deleted wasn't the correct place for the songs, then what is, and how do I find it? I want to change the song so it works correctly, but I also want to know the place they go so I can do it in the future. --RGamer2009 00:05, 30 October 2010 (CDT)

Did you upload the file to the wiki through Special:Upload? We have a separate place for Sonic music, and I think the boss music is already there. If so, just point me to where you put it. - Andlabs 00:10, 30 October 2010 (CDT)
Presumably we'll have an OSV page for Sonic 4 eventually. The soundtrack is readily available online, and it can only be uploaded to the music subdomain by someone with FTP access, so it isn't necessary for you to upload it onto the wiki. - Hivebrain 00:31, 30 October 2010 (CDT)
I've already uploaded the OST to the Wiki, so there's no issue there. Where are you trying to add the music? --Tweaker 16:51, 30 October 2010 (CDT)
