<forumuser name="DalekSam" /> DalekSam is a scener who has been around for quite a while now. Although he isn't impressive when it comes to hacking, he has some skill when it comes to spriting. He hangs out a lot at #retro, and follows the crowd when he feels like it. He has his friend STE to help him with things, like music, and other things. He also prefers to be called Sam in some cases.

History

Sprite War with Hitaxas

When he was making his hack, he decided to use Chimpo's sprites that were going to be in his hack (with his consent), Dash.

So when Sam decided to release the second release of Mobius Adventures, there was some war to come. Hitaxas was going to use edited versions of the Dash sprites, in his hack, Sonic: Super Deformed.

There was a war between the two over at RetroHack, although it was settled soon after. Hitaxas finally approved Sam being allowed to use Chimpo's sprites, even though they were for public use.

Dalek's Chibi Project

So far, Sam has worked on Sonic's, and Knuckles' sprites. Tails has been done, but has to be redone; it is taller than Tails and also doesn't look like Tails at all.

Learning xm3smps

Sam took awhile to learn how to use the tool, xm3smps, and has made some good songs with it.

His first ever conversion was started off with a midi, cut it down to 8 channels, which was the incorrect way. He labeled the channels 1 to 8 in the order of selecting the channels, and picked the boss's voices. It was a beeping mess, but kept going on and on. A few months later, he finally made his first decent song: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald Champion. It had a screech at the start, but it was fixed with the help of Master3k. This import was a great one in Sam's mind. Then, he moved on to another song: the Boss 2 song in SA2; Egg Golem. It was another successful import: but these 2 imports were helped by Oerg866, by helping him with what channels are what, and with the help of Oerg's instruments. He later redone the Egg Golem song, which had better DAC choices and also imported the Sonic 3 Knuckles song from Sonic and Knuckles collection. Obviously, he loves his Dam Dariram.

Personal Info

Love For Speed

Sam loves motor-sport, and there's nothing more better than a good simulated race on Live For Speed He is S2 Licensed, providing access to all veichles and tracks in the game. In Live For Speed, he is a team member of Storm Racing and proud.

Fasination about Sonic

As well as a fascination for motor-sport, he loves his speed: Sonic the Hedgehog was introduced to him by an elder brother. He owned a lot of Mega Drive games, including Ristar (which Sam did not know about) and Sonic 2. Recently, Sam found a ton of Mega Drive/Genesis games, along with 2 Mega Drive Model IIs. Earlier than this though, when Sam was about 6 or 7, Sonic was introduced. Sonic Adventure 2 was played by Sam, and he enjoyed it. He wanted to watch his brother play these games, as he was amazed and they were apparently cutting edge to him. Later, when he was around 9 years old, Sonic Mega Collection Plus was introduced to him, and he played the 16-bit games and loved them to bits. He got up to Flying Battery Zone on Sonic 3 & Knuckles. When he gave up and went to the toilet, he discovered his younger brother had taken over (no surprise :P). 3 years later, by chance he found Sonic Megamix, and was introduced to the Sonic Hacking Community.

The "Big" Crash

In September, Sam had a new computer installed, and had to wait a week for his old one to be plugged in a different room. That week later, Sam went on his computer and ran Kega Fusion. Now remember, an emulator crash is capable of wrecking a computer: that is Sam's case. He had wanted to backup Mobius Adventures to FileDen, but he was forbidden as he was assured that it was safe, which it wasn't. For now, Mobius Adventures and its sequel are on hold/cancelled until further notice.

Projects

Sam has worked/ is working on the following projects:
