Egg Mobile

From Sonic Retro

Another page for the list - is "Eggmobile" the best name?

I had a quick skim through the US manuals for the early games - none specifically mention Robotnik's machine by name. The Sonic Bible calls it the Egg-O-MaticMedia:SonicBibleDraft2 Document.pdf[1] as does AoStH. "Eggmobile" and "Egg Mobile" seem to come into play in the early-2000s. Don't yet know about the Japanese, though it's looking like the ship in Sonic R is different at the very least.

Just because it's probably not a good idea to have a captioned image that says "The Eggmobile, as depicted in Sonic the Hedgehog 2", if there was no Eggmobile in Sonic 2 ;) -Black Squirrel (talk) 17:10, 14 May 2019 (EDT)

As far as Japanese material goes, the machine was originally known as Eggman's MobileMedia:Sonic2 MD JP manual.pdf[2] as far back as Sonic 2, whereas it was later referred to as the Egg Mobile (エッグモービル) somewhere around Sonic RMedia:SonicR Sat JP manual.pdf[3]. I would say "Egg Mobile" would work for the article name. --BSonirachi (talk) 17:27, 14 May 2019 (EDT)
The Sonic Drift manual describes the Egg Typhoon as a modified Eggman Mobile (エッグマンモービルMedia:SonicDrift_GG_JP_manual.pdf[4]), the same term used in the Sonic 2 manual. Most of the Sonic 3 boss names end in "Mobile", and they all originate from the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Koushiki Guide Book. If anyone owns that book, it might be worth checking if Egg Mobile or Eggman Mobile are used at all - maybe for the section in Launch Base where Sonic hitches a ride. --Pecky (talk) 20:27, 14 May 2019 (EDT)

Screenshot Gallery

The current selection of screenshots in the gallery seems a bit arbitrary. I think it would make the most sense to show the Eggmobile in its default state (or closest possible) in each game, chronologically. Or would there be a better way to go about this? --Pecky (talk) 13:30, 2 November 2019 (EDT)
