Move

I'd like to move this to either Dr. Eggman or Dr. Robotnik. I prefer Dr. Eggman because that's his original name, and it's also now used internationally. Does anyone disagree? - Hivebrain 21:57, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Fine by me. I don't know why the slash is there anyway... everybody knows both names, and they'd be mentioned in the article. Plus, you have the redirects, so it ultimately doesn't matter. --Tweaker 23:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Pictures

Would it be too hard to have pictures for the other versions of Robotnik, such as AoStH and SaTAM? True_Dude 22:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Don't think it would be that hard, it's just a matter of taking a snapshot. But only notable redesigns of robotnik should be posted, like what you said the american cartoon versions of robotnik. We don't want to overdo it.--MathUser 23:27, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Dr. Ivo Robotnik is Dr. Eggman's real name.

Why did you change the edit I placed for the Doc's name? Saying he is "also known as" Dr. Ivo Robotnik implies that it is an alias or something to that effect. Yuji Naka stated that his real name is Ivo Robotnik. Read about it. It's on Sonic Central in an exclusive interview. SEGA Fan BOSS 21:25, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

It actually isn't--that was a retcon for the sake of syncing localization with the United States. The original canonical name for the character is Dr. Eggman, and only hasn't been as such starting with Sonic Adventure. Both translations of the original game material and observation--including the original character reference guide--has proven this beyond a shadow of a doubt.
So, by all means, yes--it is an alias. A localized alias that somehow got accepted later on as the character's "real name." Since we prefer to stick to the original material for the sake of accuracy, the article title is appropriate. The English dub of Dragon Ball Z claimed the Mr. Satan's character to be "Hercule Satan," but that didn't make it true--it was just localized trash. --Tweaker 22:36, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
