If you read the game's story mentioned in the manual, he and the Chaotix arrived at Carnival Island separately and teamed up to fight Eggman; he wasn't a member of the team. Also, I'm positive that Knux isn't a Chaotix. If you read the game's story mentioned in the manual, he and the Chaotix arrived at Carnival Island separately and teamed up to fight Eggman; he wasn't a member of the team.
