The debate whether Super Shadow or is silver or gold rages on, many 'n00b' Sonic fans prefer the former as many of them havnt actually completed the game themselves and rely on incorrect fan sprites of him.

Another fruitless and pointless debate is whether he is called 'Super Shadow' or 'Hyper Shadow', again, many n00b fans prefer Hyper Shadow as they incorrectly beleive his normal state is his super state due to the shape of his sprites. This is however untrue, Sonic Adventure 2 was eventually hacked to reveal the character code-pointer as 'Super Shadow'.

Hopefully, these 2 matters will finally be put to rest since it unlikely that Shadow will turn Super again in future games.

Super Shadow is the assumed name for the form Shadow took at the end of Sonic Adventure 2, based on the use of the "Super" prefix for Super Sonic and Super Knuckles. He seems to have abilities identical to those of Super Sonic.

It is not known what the Archie comic will call Super Shadow; with the exception of Super Sonic, they have invariably used alternate names for "Super" and "Hyper" characters.
