Carnival Night Zone is another zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 where the differences are primarily found in Knuckles' portions of the zone. Several objects in his routes, mainly Badniks and Star Posts, are still missing like in the standalone Sonic 3.

Act 1

Knuckles starts Act 1 standing still in the middle of the corridor in this build. In the final, he runs in from the left.

The first Clamer that the player encounters in the Act isn't there yet.

This Clamer, which follows shortly after the first one, is also missing.

There would normally be Batbots fluttering about in this speedway, but they have not been added yet. This is the first instance of a missing Batbot.

The second instance of a Batbot that hasn't been placed yet.

The fourth instance of missing Batbots. This entire row of Batbots is not yet there.

This Star Post has not yet been added in. This wouldn't be the only instance throughout Knuckles' routes in this zone.

Two ring formations would be added here later on.

Another case of a Star Post that wouldn't be added in until later in Act 1.

Knuckles is able to climb the walls during the Bowling Spin sub-boss, which is not only illogical given the circumstances here, but also allows Knuckles to cheese the fight. This was fixed in later builds.

And if Knuckles stays on the right wall after the sub-boss is defeated, he will be clinging to nothing.

Unfortunately, the game freezes when Knuckles attempts to strike a pose after the Signpost lands, meaning he cannot proceed beyond this Act in normal play...

When playing as Sonic alone in Act 1, Tails can still randomly appear after defeating Bowling Spin.

Act 2

This barrel that leads upwards into Sonic's route is supposed to be removed when playing as Knuckles, but it persists in this version, allowing Knuckles to deviate from the intended path. Spikes were also added later on to prevent Knuckles from climbing up this way (though he still CAN take Sonic's path at an earlier point in the Act in the final).

Act 2 is also missing its only Star Post for Knuckles' path.

There is no capsule at the end of Knuckles' route in Act 2, so it seems like Knuckles cannot complete the Act...

...however, the teleporter is functional anyway, and thus Knuckles can proceed to IceCap Zone as intended.
