Sonic the Hedgehog: A New Superstar is a five page preview of Sonic the Hedgehog in an 1991 issue of Game Players Encyclopedia. The article mentions that the game they are previewing is a preliminary version although it looks very close to final. However, page 22 shows the Green Hill Zone rolling ball and gives a description of its use: "Don't underestimate that big ball. It can squash our hero like a bug.
