Sonic X is the newest Sonic the Hedgehog television series, based roughly on the storylines of Sonic Adventure series.
It was animated and produced in Japan with the partnership of Sega and Sonic Team. In 2003, 4 Kids Entertainment licensed Sonic X for American television broadcasting aired on the Fox Box. The U.S. licensing is a joint effort between 4Kids and ShoPro Entertainment. A total of 52 episodes in one season were produced, and a second season is unlikely.
