One of SEGA's most loved creatives, Sonic Team took their name from their phenomenally successful Sonic the Hedgehog series. They were formerly SEGA AM8.

At the head of the development team is Yuji Naka, producer and visionary, under his leadership they have realised some of the most beautiful gaming moments ever. The creator of Sonic, Naoto Ohshima, In 1999, left Sonic Team to form his own studio, Artoon. and The another creator of Sonic, Hirokazu Yasuhara, In 2002, left Sonic Team and Moved At Naughty Dog. and Yuji Naka was In 2006, left Sonic Team to form his own studio, Prope. and Takashi Iizuka's Sonic Team USA Was situated in San Francisco, California Until 1999-2008. After got absorbed back into the Japan division. Now At the head of the development team is Takashi Iizuka.

The Sonic Team has also worked on television series adaptations of one of their most popular games they've developed and the basis of the name for the development team, Sonic.
