Sonic Runners Adventure is an action-adventure/side-scrolling runner game developed and produced by Gameloft released for Android, iOS and Java.ME internationally in 2017. It is a sequel to the original Sonic Runners, developed by Sonic Team in 2015, with a series of changes regarding its layout, graphics and HUD, while maintaining the same gameplay.

Gameplay
Similar to its predecessor, gameplay is based on a 2D auto runner. The player's character moves automatically, so the player just needs to touch the screen in order to make the character jump, and like the original game, a second or third touch on screen will make the chosen character execute a special ability, like a triple jump. A certain variety of items and buddies were kept from the original game, however a lot of them were removed, including the Wisps.
Unlike the original game, which was freemium, this game was sold at a fixed price. In addition, there are no more microtransactions within the game and the player does not need to access the internet to play it.

Stages
The game features 47 stages with 4 stage themes based on past locations from the series. Additionally, finishing a stage with the Bonus item transports the player character to a Bonus level.

| Accessed after finishing a stage after collecting a Bonus item. The player travels through what appears to be space and collects rings gathered in various formations, such as arrows, or forming words like "NICE" and "COOL". |
