Sonic Mix 3 is the third and final volume of the techno-pop compilations produced by Arcade Music Company for Spain. For the first time, the series takes advantage of the Sonic the Hedgehog license that has adorned the packaging for the entire line. Coming in a deluxe two-disc package, the second CD contains a playable demo of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island for the PC. On the musical side, the track listing begins and ends with a song called "Sonic Mix 3 Megamix," splicing together the various cuts that were selected for the compilation with Sonic-related sound effects sprinkled throughout. The radio edit version of this track was also released as a promotional single.
