Speedy Dragon, also known as Sonic Dragon, is a 1995 pirate game for the Super A'Can. The main character is a baseball weilding kid with a bit of an attitude in his expressions, which was a part of Sonic's appeal. Besides the attitude there are other similarities to Sonic, gameplay wise. The character moves fast and can get a burst of speed by holding down and pressing jump (which looks more like a Super Peel-Out than a Spin Dash). There are also collectables (baseballs) that act as hit points and are deducted (by 10) when hit. There are also level objects which are similar to those in Sonic games such as springboards and checkpoint poles which take the player to a special stage, not to mention the breakable item boxes. The layout of objects and the perspective of this special stage is very reminiscient to Sonic the Hedgehog 2's special stage. The boss of the first level is also pretty similar to Drill Eggman, the first boss in Sonic 2.

The game has some differences from Sonic though. He doesn't curl into a ball when jumping nor does jumping on an enemy actually hurt them. The character uses his baseball bat to attack with instead. The inability to curl into a ball also slows down gameplay as he will not be able to react quickly to approaching enemies and has to stop to attack. The game is also a bit difficult as there are no continues and only 3 lives.
