In the Master System version, there is a moving platform which takes you over to the hidden invincibility monitor on top of the loop. This is removed in the Game Gear version, so the only way to reach the monitor is using the spring.

The US GG version has removed the 4 rings just before the big loop. The JP GG version restores these rings.
