Sonic 2 Recreation is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by redhotsonic. It sports various ASM edits, multiple characters, and levels from other Sonic games, notably Sonic Advance 3 and also included his own level art.

Information

After a year of not hacking, redhotsonic missed doing his RHS2 hack, but decided to start from scratch. Yet again, he decided to hack Sonic the Hedgehog 2. This was also RHS's first ASM hack. The hack has different objectives to most hacks; you must find the emerald in the level before you can finish it. It features a level-select-level type which replaces Hill Top Zone. Basically, there are logos on the level-select-level (logo 1, logo 2, etc), each corresponding to a different level. For example, logo 1 would take you to Level 1. Although, Logo 2 will not work until Level 1 has been completed.

Mighty on the lightning level. This barrier will remain until the emerald is found. The warp will take you to the beginning of the level

The hack was also going to include Cream the Rabbit, but due to her looks and people disliking this character, this soon got scrapped. It is unknown as yet if "JetPackTails" is to make an appearance.
