Sonic 2 Delta is a groundbreaking hack by Esrael Neto, which features restored deleted levels such as Wood Zone, Hidden Palace Zone, the desert level (in the game's case, Dust Hill) and the winter level (in the game's case, Winter Hill). Sonic 2 Delta is based on Sonic 2 Beta, whereas Sonic 2 Delta 0 is based of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Nick Arcade Prototype, Sonic 2 Delta II uses final Sonic the Hedgehog 2 code and Sonic 2 Delta III uses Sonic the Hedgehog 2 REV02. Although actual features change from game to game, various features include the use of art from the beta and Sonic the Hedgehog and re-implementation of badniks removed from the final game.
