Oh, all right...

Dr. Robotnik has stolen the mystical Chaos Fries! These ancient junk foods were fried in Chaos Emerald-infused oil, making them objects of unlimited flavor! By using a Chaos Flavor Amplifier, Robotnik plans to draw the inhabitants of Mobius to his flying fortress, the Clockwork Castle, where they will be turned into robots! Are you a bad enough dude to save Mobius?!

Items
Ring: Collect even one of these, and you can take damage without dying. Collect 100, and you get an extra life.

Chaos Emerald: Artifacts of unimaginable power. There are seven of these in total, but Robotnik has the last one. Keep the other six away from him at all costs.

Chaos Fry: These mystical foodstuffs are used to fuel Badniks. Collect all that you can, and something good is sure to happen.

Star Post: Hit one of these, and Sonic will start at it when you die.

Finish Line: This marks the end of the level.

Monitor: This high-tech device was constructed by Robotnik to keep Sonic from reaching helpful items. Destroy it and the containment field will be shattered.

Special Ring: One of these is hidden in each Zone; use them to teleport to the Special Stage. Clear these vicious platforming challenges to receive a Chaos Emerald.

Monitors
Shield: This item protects Sonic once from direct damage. After taking a hit, it will disintegrate.

Low-Grav Shield: This red-tinted Shield reduces gravity's effect on Sonic, allowing him to jump nearly twice as high until he takes a hit.

Super Sneakers: This item increases Sonic's speed and acceleration.

'S': This item transforms Sonic into Super Sonic even if he doesn't have all the Chaos Emeralds or 50 Rings. They're in short supply, but it's a handy boost. Be careful not to transform back into normal Sonic!

Super Ring: Provides 10 Rings.

Robotnik: This harmful item damages Sonic.

Extra Life: This item gives Sonic an extra life.

Anti-Sonic: This monitor with a grey Sonic head on it takes away one life, and, if you're at one life remaining, causes an automatic Game Over! Avoid it at all costs!

Scrapped Levels
Several originally intended levels are no longer in any form in the final game.

*Titanium Tunnel Zone: An abandoned mine using Mystic Cave graphics was situated after the desert Zone. Removed because it wasn't anything interesting.

*Desert Zone/Toxic Trail Zone:: A desert canyon Zone that was turned into a Zone set on a chain of polluted islands before removal.

*Rocky Coast Zone: A one-Act tutorial Zone. Work was never even started before removal.

*Septic Frost Zone: An unused Zone set in polluted ice caverns, Septic Frost was heavily reworked into Septic Slide. Septic Frost was extremely fast and fairly easy, whereas Septic Slide is a slow Zone with a lot of precise platforming and underwater sections, and is very difficult.

*Icy Inferno Zone: Essentially a blue, snowy Marble. Removed because it was ponderous, slow, and generally boring.

Second Characters
I've tried to add another character twice, but decided against both. Recently, Ray the Flying Squirrel has been made a permanent feature.

Espio the Chameleon
At one point, Espio was intended to be playable. His code was nearly finished, including a chargeable super-jump and the ability to breath and move unhindered in water. He was removed due to being hideously overpowered.

Amy Rose
The second choice of a second character was Amy. She had a slower running speed and no way to gain speed quickly, but she also had ridiculous jump combos that allowed her to access secret paths. Removed early in development due to a decision against adding other characters.

Level Changes
Originally, Dusk Drive has a bleach-white palette. In addition, Rust Realm (at that point, Robotnik Ruin) had many underwater areas. Septic Slide was green until recently, and had no metal.

Demo 1 Buglist
* If moving left after hitting end, Sonic will continue to move left

* PCM doesn't play in Gens

* Transforming into Super Sonic in Rust Realm 1 gets you stuck

* Accessing Special Stage will lead to a broken Toxic Trail test stage after completion

Sonic 1 With Fries is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive by Team Fries. The last version was released in October 2009.

Story

Dr. Robotnik is an asshole. He stole the sacred Chaos Fries, cooked in Chaos Emerald-infused oils. With them, he has built an army of robots, and his flying fortress, Chrome Castle Zone. If you can acquire the Chaos Emeralds, you may be able to neutralize the Chaos Fries.

Features

 • Two characters: Sonic the Hedgehog and Ray the Flying Squirrel. Use Sonic's speed to fling yourself around levels, or, if you're a more methodical type, use the slower Ray's teleport to bypass barriers and gaps, finding shortcuts through the Zone. Press C during mid-jump to perform a Static Curl (Sonic) or Burst Teleport (Ray).
 • Six unique Zones.
 • Physics tweaks.
 • Two new Monitors: the Low-Grav Shield and the Emerald. The Low-Grav Shield massively increases your jump height if you have it, while seven Emerald monitors are hidden throughout the game.
 • Original music by Oerg866.

Levels

 • Sunset Turnpike Zone: Take a stroll through this city at dusk. The suspended highways enable you to reach great speeds, but don't think you're going to be allowed to just blaze right through.
 • Blazing Citadel Zone: At the edge of the city is a disused steel foundry. Robotnik has made this place into a veritable fortress; don't let your guard down for a second. And avoid the rivers of molten steel if you know what's good for you.
 • Septic Slide Zone: Flushed into the sewers! This sewer system is Robotnik's territory, and he doesn't want you traveling through it! And if his robots and traps don't get you, can you make it through the filthy waters, or will you drown?
 • Flying Gate Zone: You've arrived at the Chrome Castle, but the gates are sealed! There's a vent at the far end of the massive, twisted mess of scaffolding covering the structure; if you can cross it, you can reach Robotnik!
 • Chrome Castle Zone: Robotnik's lair! It's an elegant design, but don't let that fool you; one wrong step and you're toast! At the end is Robotnik's inner sanctum.
