Sonic 1 Alt
Sonic 1 Alt is a layout hack of Sonic The Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by Ell678. It is notable due to the fact the original Sonic The Hedgehog game has been left nearly unmodified, with the main focus being on the level layouts themselves.
Features
- All new layouts for every Act, along with all the special stages.
- Speedcap removed from the air and ground, allowing Sonic to move faster than in Sonic 1.
- The "Spike bug" is not removed, due to it being a unique feature in Sonic 1.
Releases
This hack is aimed at a release date of July 2010. The only release so far is a demo of the first three zones. Please note the palletes have since been restored to the originals, and this is unrepresentative of the hack.
