soniNeko is a hack of
Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) for the
Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by
Nineko. It is notable because it's the first hack ever in which all the songs are conversions from MIDI and MOD files (and not ports from other Sonic games or other
SMPS sources), mainly created as a demonstration of
xm2smps capabilities.
There is not much else to see there, just a few palette edits (SonED), new level names and level select (Esrael Sonic Editor), and the classic ASM stuff such as the spindash and the spike bug fix (Puto).
