This page is very long and over-detailed, especially now that Andlabs is providing lots of useful information about many things. I think it should be split between Sonic Retro (for SMPS in Sonic games only) and Sega Retro (with detailed articles and possibly subpages about every aspect of SMPS). YES THE PAGE IS TOO BIG I BROKE IT ADDING SOMETHING FABULOUS - Andlabs 15:35, 1 December 2010 (CST)
The entire page would be best split up into its own pages. I think it's fine being on Sonic Retro, we don't want to confuse everyone now do we? SOTI 15:36, 1 December 2010 (CST)
Yeah I think some of this should be carried over to Sega Retro. There's a lot of generic stuff here that doesn't really relate to Sonic, and in many ways it's more confusing that there's information about games such as Mega Man or Phantasy Star on a wiki about Sonic. -Black Squirrel 16:08, 1 December 2010 (CST)
I agree that it should be split up, but disagree that it should be split across the two wikis. Yes, it may be strange that things that aren't even remotely related to Sonic still on the Sonic Retro wiki, but this is hacking information for hackers and thus should stay here. --DalekSam 12:02, 3 December 2010 (CST)
But that implies that all hackers are Sonic hackers, which while seems to be true now (most other MD hackers are fan translators and Shining hackers like Flygon, and the Shining games use Cube). Sega Retro DOES have a hacking information section, so why not use it? - Andlabs 15:13, 3 December 2010 (CST)

Sega Retro

I do not agree with the general information about SMPS being moved to Sega Retro. I wrote this as a Sonic-centric hacking guide first and foremost and I intend to keep it that way. If my intent was to write a general SMPS guide, I would have stated it as such and put it on a more general ROM hacking site. Please move it back immediately. --Tweaker 17:16, 4 December 2010 (CST)
