Rob Cypher is not as much a member of the Sonic Internet community as he was a nuisance to the members of alt.fan.sonic-hedgehog. Rob was a notorious cross-poster, often posting numerous nonsense messages to just as many newsgroups. While many ignored or wrote a post or two about it, AFSH was one of those took notice and dedicated much manpower to discussing and denouncing his escapades. While there wasn't much that could be done by the individual members to stop him, he became a part of the AFSH lexicon, often made fun of and used as a symbol of growing frustration. While he eventually ceased his cross-posting (in part from the downfall of Usenet as a whole) he is still joked about in a casual manner with those who remember the glory days of AFSH.
