Ray Flying the Squirrel is a yellow squirrel with a long tail, and the ability to fly. He is an old friend of both [[Sonic the Hedgehog]] and [[Mighty the Aramdillo]]. In the arcade game, [[SegaSonic the Hedgehog]], Ray, along with Sonic and Mighty were captured by Dr. Robotnik, and imprisons them somewhere in an island fortress. And together, the three of them had to avoid Dr. Robotnik's traps, and escape from the island. Unlike Mighty, this was the only game Ray was featured in, and was never seen again afterwards, except as a cameo appearance in the Sega Saturn title, [[Gale Racer]]. He, along with Sonic, Mighty, and Knuckles, was shown hanging down a car mirror as key chains.
